Vaiyapuri Periyakaruppiah (Tamil:வையாபுரி பெரியகருப்பையா) is a judge of the Madras High Court in India.
[edit] Early life and career

Justice V.Periyakaruppiah was Born in October 1950, in Kamatchipuram, Theni district.

After his school education at P.H.N. High School in Kamatchipuram, he did his degree course from the V.H.N.S.N. College in Virudhunagar. He obtained law degree from the Madras Law College in 1974. He was enrolled as an advocate in August 1974.

After practising in Madurai, he was directly appointed Sub-Judge in 1989. He has served in Villupuram, Thiruvallur, Chennai and Cuddalore in the Subordinate and District Judiciaries. He was Registrar (Vigilance) of the High Court for nearly three years, and was also the first Registrar (Judicial) of the Madurai Bench of the High Court.

Just before getting elevated as a High court Judge in Madras High court, he was serving as Principal Judge, in City Civil Court at Chennai.

His position was made permanent on November 10th 2009 after a brief swearing in ceremony.
