A. Y. S. Parisutha Nadar was an Indian politician. He was the former member of the legislative assembly elected to Madras State from Thanjavur constituency as a Congress candidate. He was elected twice from the constituency in year 1957 and 1967.

He was also elected as an M.L.A. in the year 1946 and was a member of the constituent assembly that helped formulate the Constitution of India. This was the transient assembly as it was a legislature formed just before India attained its independence. Parisutha Nadar along with Rev.Fr. Jerome D'Souza was part of the commission that was specially formed for the protection of minorities' rights under the Indian Constitution.

A.Y.S.Parisutha Nadar was the M.L.A.in Tamilnadu, India for 3 terms and the only time he lost was when he contested against the D.M.K. supremo Mr Karunanidhi with a vote difference of 1000 odd votes. He also served as the Municipal Chairman of Thanjavur apart from being a staunch Congressman. His very close association with Sri Kamaraj Nadar and Sri Kakkan was on merits of his undisputable good performance, honesty and hard work which won him a status of an undisputed leader of the region.

His brother-in-law P.A.Yagappa Nadar was the leader of the Congress Party in the erstwhile Thanjavur District Board in the 1950s. It is noteworthy to mention that he was the main donor of the lands of about 150 acres (0.61 km2) now occupied by the Thanjavur Medical College, the New Bus Stand and the Raja Serfoji Government College. The family has to its credit of donating many other prime lands towards public cause. His brother Rao Bahadur Sri A.Y.Arulanandasamy Nadar also served as the Thanjavur Municipal Chairman. The family is very well recognized for the philanthropic services in the region of Thanjavur.
